As your web site audience grows and as more simultaneous users are served, your application has to work harder to keep up. You can help by adding additional resources, like RAM, CPU, storage, or bandwidth to your plan, or by moving up to a bigger plan with more resources built-in.
Your upgrade path depends on your current service.
The Sidecar
The Sidecar is the perfect complement to your existing service, and makes for an excellent staging or development environment. The Rails Machine Sidecar is a companion service that can be added to any plan. We can clone any of your existing virtual servers and save you hours of setup.

In order for us to offer this price for a lifetime service, we have a few restrictions. The Sidecar is an add-on service, and your account must have another full-price service. We cannot provide nightly backups, SLA, refunds, additional IPs, or 10.0.x.x network access. Additional resources require a regular plan. Only one sidecar per 4GB of existing service is allowed.
Core Plan Customers
If you are a Core Plan customer, you can upgrade by moving to a higher plan (current pricing is detailed on the Hosting page).
You can also add additional redundancy using hardware load balancing. We can also split your virtual servers onto physically separate hardware, using the load balancers for failover ($200/month).
Just submit a ticket to let us know what changes you’d like, and we’ll coordinate the whole process for you.
Shared CPU Customers
If you are currently a Shared CPU customer, you can add resources and virtual servers incrementally, as detailed below. There are no setup fees when adding resources.
